F.A.P.Z. was a three part mini-series that helped NSPCC highlight the dangers of online porn for a cynical teenage audience. The lo-fi visual style mirrored the spiky, provocative content the audience loved.

'F.A.P.Z. EPISODE 1' - The start of the anarchic mini-series introduces one of our heroes 'Jack Soffalot'.

'THE MAKING OF F.A.P.Z.' - Our YouTube stars shared their thoughts on the topic in this supporting piece.

Our all-star vlogger line-up comprised of six of YouTube's most popular names.

Sex ed meets 'A.D.H.D.' - led by vloggers and unleashed on YouTube.

CHALLENGE:
How can we help 11 - 16 year olds build resilience against the negative effects of consuming too much online porn?

RESPONSE:
Convincing cynical, sex obsessed teens to question their porn consumption was a tall order… It was all about creating the right motivation for them. This was achieved by showing them that if they were more aware of what was and wasn’t real in porn, they could avoid embarrassment in real life sexual situations.

The central message was simple - Don’t become a porn zombie! - and this underpinned the campaign, ‘The Fight Against Porn Zombies’. Through an anarchic animated YouTube series, developed alongside young people and starring some of YouTube’s biggest names, we motivated young people to want to give themselves a reality check.

RESULT:
1.31m video views (with an average of 74% audience retention), 5,598 comments from young people across the series, (making it one of Childline’s most successful YouTube campaigns ever), and hundreds of thousands of young people thinking twice about what they should expect of themselves and others in the bedroom.
